| 1st Area Army Welcomes PM's Meeting with Privy Council President |

The First Region Army chief has expressed support for the prime minister's planned meeting with the Privy Council President.
First Region Army Chief, Lieutenant General Prayuth Chan-ocha said Prime Minister and Defence Minister Somchai Wonsawat's plan to visit Privy Council President, General Prem Tinasulanonda, is a good idea as discussions with the country's well-accepted figures will be useful.
Meanwhile, outgoing Army Chief of Staff and Secretary-general for the Internal Secretary Operation Command or ISOC, General Montree Chompujan held a ceremony at its office to pass his command authority to Lieutenant General Prayuth, who will replace him in his posts from tomorrow onwards.
Lieutenant General Prayuth insisted he will continue ISOC's strategies in dealing with the new threats facing the country and will follow the director's policies.
He urged the people to adhere to the national interests as a priority and to help seek resolutions to the problems the country is facing.
