A vendor who bears a striking resemblance to US President Barack Obama has been discovered in Saraburi Province. The man is currently preparing to launch his own folk album.
50-year-old Supoj Boonsuebwong, the owner of a sportswear shop opposite Ban Mor Hospital in Saraburi Province has recently gained a lot of attention from the media because of his resemblance to the new US President, Barack Obama.
When asked about his resemblance to one of the World's leaders, Supoj, dubbed as the Thai Obama, revealed that he wasn't aware of it until recently, when he participated in a local football match and the announcer at the game said his face looked like President Obama's.
Supoj admitted that he was shy when people looked and called him the Thai Obama, but later, he tried to dress up like the president with a suit and tie, causing laughter and smiles among those who met him.
The Thai Obama disclosed that he had worked at the Telephone Organisation of Thailand but resigned and started his own business.
He spends his free time in a music band, playing football, and working as a DJ for two local radio stations using the name "Supoj Petchsungnern".
After the news of his resemblance to President Obama spread, Supoj said song composer Charan Sariwong approached him, explaining that he is interested in composing a set of songs for him so that he can release an album by the end of this month. Supoj will be known as "Bangrak Obama."
