The Office of the Attorney General will file a complaint with the Administrative Court seeking a reprieve for 12 projects suspended by its injunction next Monday at the latest. Senior public prosecutor Banyat Wisuthimak said the petition can be filed with the Administrative Court on February 12 or 15 while the evidence enclosed with the complaint includes new information which has never been presented during the previous trial. The move is a part of the Industry Ministry's effort to help lessen the damage to suspended projects. Banyat said he believes none of the suspended projects has affected communities around the Map Ta Phut industrial estate in Rayong and their environmental condition. The petition can help projects still under construction avoid an average loss of between 500 million to two billion baht. The Office of the Attorney General is set to seek a reprieve for 12 suspended projects. They will be divided into two groups. The first group consist of nine projects under construction, including one belonging to Thai-Polyethylene Company, two under Siam Synthetic Latex Company, one belonging to Siam Polyethylene Company, two under PTT Phenol Company, one belonging to BST Elastomer Company, one under Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Company and one belonging to TMMA Company. Three others in the preparatory stage of construction are under MTP HP VJ Company, Viny Thai Company and BRP Steel Company. Banyat revealed he has already submitted further testimony to the court for its trial. The plaintiffs must file a statement to contest the petition and present their evidence. He expected the judicial process to take one year or two. |
