| Soldiers Help Flood Victims in South |

All related agencies are still monitoring the flood situation in the south although the situation has begun to improve in many areas.
The flood situation in Songkhla's Hat Yai district seems to have eased as floodwater in Utapao creek which has inundated several communities in Hat Yai, Khlong Hoi Khong and Bang Klam districts on Monday has subsided.
However, Hat Yai municipality's authorities were still raising yellow flag to warn the locals to keep an eye on the situation as several consecutive days of torrential rain could result in more flooding.
Classes and activities in some schools have resumed today after the serious flood situation has forced temporary closure of 100 schools yesterday.
Although there is no more downpour in Phatthalung province, villagers in Muang, Khao Chaison, Khuan Khanun, Pak Phayun and Pa Bon districts are still reeling under heavy floods as a result of a runoff from Bantad mountain range.
Flood situation Satun's Muang district remains worrisome as the level of water in the district has risen as a result of an overflow from other districts located its north.
Commander of the Pattani Provincial Task Force 23, Lieutenant Colonel Chakrit Sanitpuang has ordered soldiers to deliver life-saving packages to flood victims and help rebuild the roads in Pattani province as villagers in nine districts have been affected by the floods.
A team of soldier has been assigned to stand guard at official places to prevent any attack by south insurgents.
Director at the Southern Border Provinces Administration Center, Phanu Uthairat revealed that he has assigned related officials to keep a close watch on the situation and provide aids to flood victims.
Meanwhile,head of the combined civil, military and police unit, Lieutenant General Kasikorn Kirisri said that he has ordered a task force in the flood-hit area to deliver life-saving packages and also provide physical examination to flood victims.
