Killer Phone Number A Hoax

Authorities have warned the public not to fall for the 'killer' phone number hoax after it has been proven as untrue by officials.

A hoax involving killer phone numbers has been terrifying the public in many provinces.


False rumors have surfaced in various provinces that one can die from picking up a phone call from unknown numbers, particularly those that start with 083 and end with 3366.

Authorities have proved that this bizarre rumor is a hoax.

The terrifying rumors have been spreading several northern provinces for almost two weeks, spreading fear among the locals.

The authorities have stepped in to investigate the rumors and forwarded e-mails and concluded that it's a hoax.

In Lampang Province, a government official said investigations revealed that no mobile telephone related deaths were ever reported.

Officials are asking the public to exercise their own judgement when confronted with untrue stories.

A Chiang Mai doctor said that it is very unlikely that sudden deaths can occur merely be picking up a phone call.

No abnormal phone related deaths has been reported in any major hospitals.
