The People’s Alliance for Democracy moves forth in its mobile rally strategy for its final showdown. At the Makawan Bridge where most of the PAD supporters are still centered, PAD core leaders Chamlong Srimuang and Sondhi Limthongkul are managing the crowds and dispatching troops of 500 each to different places around town.
A group of 2,000 are now present at the Transport Ministry on Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue. A second group has traveled on foot from the Chamai Maruchet Bridge to the Finance Ministry on Rama VI Road, led by PAD core leader Pipop Thongchai and PAD coordinator Suriyasai Katasila.
An additional group of 2,500 have joined those rallying in front of the Transport Ministry, closing off the Jor Por Ror intersection.
More people are being rounded up at the Royal Plaza to travel to the NBT television station on Vipawadee-Rangsit Road, led by the Dhamma Army. The station is now under siege by the PAD after they stormed the gates and gained entrance to the station. Reports have come in that electricity has been cut at the station, resulting in no signal being broadcasted.
At the Transport Ministry on Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue, PAD core leader Somsak Kosaisuk leads activities and speeches. The PAD closed off traffic from the Jor Por Ror intersection to the Phan Fa Bridge. The ministry’s gates were closed since the morning before the PAD protestors arrived.
The PAD’s speeches attacked Transport Minister Santi Prompat and called on him to resign.
At around 8.40 am, the PAD protestors closed off Rama VIII Bridge, causing heavy traffic congestion.
