Lawyer Claims Police Has No Right to Disperse Protesters
UPDATE : 29 August 2008

A lawyer from the Lawyer Council of Thailand has announced that the Civil Court has accepted PAD's petition for an appeal against the court's injunction. He adds that this means police have no right to disperse the protesters.

Member of the Lawyer Council of Thailand, Nititorn Lumluer claimed that the court has accepted the PAD's petition and the plaintiff will have 15 days to provide the court with counter arguments to convince the court to overturn or lessen the degree of the injunction.

Nititorn is adamant while the court is considering the appeal, the PAD has the right to continue their gathering until the court hands down its ruling.
