The deputy premier on economic affairs affirms no budget cut for the state's dust-free road project proposed by the coalition Bhum Jai Thai Party and says the issue has already been cleared. Deputy Prime Minister Trairong Suwankhiri revealed that the Strong Thailand stimulus budget allocated for the state's dust-free road construction program will be maintained and he has informed the leader of coalition Bhum Jai Thai Party, who initiated the project. Trairong went on to say that the government's budgets under the 400 billion-baht loan act should be spent on projects which help boost the economy. Deputy Prime Minister on security affairs and secretary general of the Democrat Party Suthep Thaugsuban assured that the Strong Thailand budget cut plan will not make the coalition parties unhappy. Suthep said deputy premier Trairong, as a veteran politician, understands what he has to do with the coalition members to achieve an optimum result. Meanwhile, Transport Minster Sophon Sarum said he has already talked to Trairong on that the budget for the dust-free road project will remain unchanged. Sophon said transportation development in rural areas can help boost the economy. However, he is worried about a possible conflict afterwards in case the project's budget is reduced without any acceptable reasons. |
