Warnings Against Travelling to Thailand Rise
UPDATE : 9 March 2010

Four more nations have issued warnings against visiting Thailand in anticipation to the upcoming rally by the supporters of Democractic Alliance Against Dictatorship, or DAAD, this Friday, bringing the total number of nations which have warned their citizens against going to Thailand to 31.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand Deputy Governor on marketing communication Prakit Piriyakiat revealed yesterday that four more countries have warned their citizens against coming to Thailand amidst the political uncertainty.

They suggest travelers keep themselves informed about developments in Thailand and to avoid anticipated protest sites.

The total number of countries which have warned citizens against traveling to Thailand now stands at 31.

Brazil, Latvia, Czech Republic and Cambodia are four of the latest countries to issue the warnings.

Out of five levels of alert, Cambodia has raised its alert level to level 4, which recommends travelers to rethink their plans to visit Thailand.

The twenty-seven nations that earlier issued warnings against traveling to Thailand include China, Macau, South Korea, Taiwan, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Austria, America, Israel, Japan, Poland, Romania, Spain, Russia, Finland, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

In order to prevent confusion, the Tourism Authority of Thailand plans to send out teams to film rally sites and tourist destinations simultaneously in real time and post the videos on popular video-hosting websites to show travelers that the rally doesn't impact tourist areas.
