| Rising Asian Singing Sensation Visits Thailand | |||||||||||||

A world renowned Filipino pop and R&B singer recently visited Thailand to promote her upcoming Asian Tour Concert after her self-titled album “Charice" debuted at number eight on the billboard chart. She is known as the first Asian artist in history to land on the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard album chart. Thousands of fans, both Thai and international, flocked to a live performance by Asia's newest singing sensation, CHARMAINE Clarice Relucio Pempengco, also known as Charice, as she visited Thailand as part of her Asian Tour to promote her CD, give interviews, and meet her fans. Charice will also take part in a concert performance this October under the David Foster and Friends International Tour. This month, Charice embarked on her first Asian tour covering South Korea, the Philippines, Japan, and Thailand. The talented 18 year old Charice, did not disappoint her fans as she appeared on stage and performed live in front of the thousands of fans who packed the venue of the mini concert during the 'Singha Presents Charice 'Dreams Come True' Showcase @ Siam Discovery'. Among the crowd were quite a huge number of Filipino fans who came to support her. Charice shared on stage that the fans make her feel that Thailand is like her second home. Charice treated Thai fans with at least half a dozen numbers, including her signature song Pyramid, Note to God, and Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing and I Will Always Love You. Five years ago, Charice was a little girl who had entered more than one hundred singing contests before becoming a finalist in Little Big Star, the Filipino equivalent of American Idol. Charice is being called “the Voice” of today’s music industry. She is dubbed by Oprah Winfrey as the most talented girl in the world, and she was the first Asian in history to land in the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart as her first single, “Pyramid” became a hit around the world. “Pyramid” is one of 14 tracks from Charice’s self-titled U.S. debut album. Charice is now working on her international album with legendary songwriter and producer, David Foster, who is behind the success of artists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Michael Buble. Charice has released two platinum albums and has appeared in “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel." Charice is also included in the upcoming season of the popular American TV series, “GLEE”. Thais will have the chance to meet CHARICE and see her perform live once again this October, and you’ll know why she is the first Asian to succeed in America. |
